Today is a very special day. One of my oldest and dearest friends just checked into the hospital this morning to deliver her first born. So what could be a more fitting way to welcome this wee one into the world than to post mommy’s maternity session?
Emily and I have a long history together. We’ve lived together, cried together, laughed together and spent endless hours on the stage together. Though we never truly believed the day would come, we talked about having kids and raising them side by side (in our little houses with Pickett fences of course) and today, it just so happens that we’re here with little ones half a year apart. Dream. Come. True. (Well, except Emily actually has a fence, I just have a patio.)
Emily wanted a session that captured her for who she really is. She’s strong, down-to-Earth, honest and kind. She’s not the type to get emotional over silly things and keeps everything real. And she didn’t want a “typical” maternity session, she just wanted a simple walk in the park while we talked like we normally do and for me to snap a photo every now and then. So that’s exactly what we did. Ok, I may have talked her into stepping into some good light here and there. But, that’s it. I promise.
So Emmy, this is for your little one about to enter our crazy world. Happy birthday to the munchkin I’ve been dying to meet since you and I rocked on the porch at Corbitt Street!

aww! very nice
Love when you can give a glimpse into the background of your subject. I also like how each image delivers a differing aspect of Emily. Great Job and good luck to here!
